BigHope 2021 Update

BigHope is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization that prepares Pre-kindergarten to grade 12 students in underserved communities for opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) fields through education, engagement and inspiration.

With the dedication and support of the schools, volunteers, and the community, we turned obstacles into opportunities to keep STEAM learning going strong over the past year:

IMPACT

  • 600 students engaged (age 4 to 15)
  • 1800 volunteer hours

  • Virtual Summer Robotics Clubs
  • Virtual, Hybrid & In-person Robotics & Coding Programs
  • End of year in-school STEAM Engagements & Celebrations
  • 1:1 Mentoring
  • Resources & Leadership for Robotics Clubs
  • Virtual Summer Read Alongs

 

APPRECIATION: BigHope Founder Oren O’Neal was named Volunteer & Donor of the Year by the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Arts Academy in the Dallas Independent School District.

Founded by Oren O’Neal, an engineer and retired NFL player (Oakland Raiders), BigHope provides robotics, coding, mentoring and other enrichment programs and activities to empower children in communities in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.
